Abstract

Objective: This paper aims to discuss the impacts of digital technologies on modern medicine, with an emphasis on the reactions of health professionals and patients regarding the increasing implementation of services and procedures that rely on Artificial Intelligence resources in the health area. Methodology: The methodology used is a bibliographic review that analyzes how technology can be implemented in a coherent manner, aiming to understand its impacts on the health area and the tensions that occur in this process. Originality and Relevance: The bifurcations expressed by health professionals who often see technological advances as a loss of autonomy in the care of their patients. Theoretical/methodological contributions: The study contributes to prevention, treatment and care in relation to health, and effectively to the improvement of hospital management, to social health security and to full, universal health management that can be planned and fed from the data, techniques, results and benefits of new digital technologies in a humanized way. Main results obtained: Innovation in the creation of adequate regulations that ethically protect citizens' clinical data can consequently increase the acceptance of new technologies in medicine, both by professionals and patients, demonstrating the aspects, benefits, perspectives and challenges that AI presents in healthcare management, which has among its objectives the guarantee of safe and efficient care for patients.
