The work team`s internal functioning: bidimensionality, interdependence and performance.

Ana Luisa Pinto, Paulo Renato Lourenço

Resumo

In this study, based on the work of Rousseau, Aubé and Savoie (2006a, 2006b), we will present the results of a research whose goal consisted of analysing the relationship between the internal functioning of teams and their team task performance, as well as the moderating role of task interdependence in that relationship.

The results of our study were shown to be partially consistent with those of Rousseau, Aubé and Savoie (2006b). In fact, if, on the one hand, the dimensions of the internal functioning of work teams are positively related to team performance, on the other hand, no empirical support was found concerning a moderation effect of task interdependence.
